My Struggle to Catch Kumar’s Games
Man, tracking Kumar Rocker’s minor league starts was driving me nuts. I’d constantly miss his pitching outings because MiLB schedules are all over the place. One Wednesday afternoon I finally snapped when I realized I’d missed his third straight start.
The Messy First Attempts
First I tried checking the team website daily. Big mistake – their game schedule looked like alphabet soup and never showed pitching rotations upfront. Then I downloaded four different sports apps hoping one would notify me. Nope! They kept spamming me about MLB games instead.
Even tried setting up Google alerts, but that only gave me news articles from three days ago. Total waste of time.
The Lightbulb Moment
Last Thursday I was scrolling through Twitter when the team account posted: “Rocker dealing heat tonight in Toledo!” That’s when it hit me – stop fighting their system and just stalk their social media.
My Foolproof Method Now
Here’s exactly what I did:
- Followed the team’s official Twitter account
- Turned on tweet notifications for them (that little bell icon)
- Set my phone to override Do Not Disturb for their alerts
Boom! Now whenever Kumar’s scheduled, my phone literally screams at me during dinner. The tweets always say who’s pitching that night right in the first line. No more guessing, no more frantic searching.
It’s been two weeks and I’ve caught every single one of his appearances. Feels stupid how simple it was after all that hassle. Wish I’d thought of this before he got sent down to A-ball!
