Okay, so today I wanna talk about this “10 percent 100” thing I’ve been trying out. It’s kinda weird, but stick with me.

The Idea
The basic idea is to focus on just 10% of something, but do that 10% really, really well – like, 100% effort. I read some stuff online about how we often spread ourselves too thin, trying to do a million things at once and ending up doing none of them well. So, I figured, why not try the opposite?
My Experiment
I decided to apply this to my daily work. I have, for the past few days focused on just 10 percent of my job, while giving it my all.
I picked one small task. Just one. Today, it was organizing my computer files(normally, I’d tell myself I’d do it “later,” which means never).
Then I went all in. I created a new folder structure, deleted all the junk I didn’t need, renamed everything so it made sense, I am really doing this 100%, and no playing around.
How It Went
Honestly, it felt… good. Really good. Usually, even small tasks feel overwhelming because I’m thinking about all the other stuff I should be doing. But this time, I just focused on this one thing, It was 100%.

I finished it way faster than I expected. And because I wasn’t distracted, I actually did a better job than I usually would. No half-hearted effort here.
The Results
- More Focused: It’s way easier to concentrate when you’re not juggling five things at once. Who knew?
- Less Stress: I didn’t feel that constant pressure of unfinished tasks hanging over my head.
- Better Quality: My 10% task got my full attention, so it was done right.
- Feeling Accomplished: Even though it was just a small thing, I felt like I actually achieved something.
What I Learned
This “10 percent 100” thing might not be a magic bullet for everything. But it’s a pretty cool way to tackle tasks that feel overwhelming, or when you’re just feeling burnt out and unmotivated.
It’s like, instead of trying to climb the whole mountain at once, you just focus on taking the next ten steps. And you make sure those ten steps are solid. Then you take the next ten. You get the idea.
I’m definitely going to keep playing around with this. Maybe tomorrow I’ll apply it to cleaning my desk, or maybe I’ll use it to finally start learning that new skill I’ve been putting off. The key is to pick something small, but go all in. 10 percent, 100%. Give it a try!
