Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Scottie Scheffler is boring” thing floating around the internet lately, and I gotta say, I was curious. I mean, the guy’s been dominating the golf scene, right? So, I decided to do a little experiment of my own. I picked a few of his recent tournaments to watch, just to see what all the fuss was about.

First up, I started with the 2023 Players Championship. I found some full-round coverage online and settled in. Now, I’m no golf expert, but I enjoy watching it. I started watching. At first, it seemed, well, normal. Scheffler was playing well, hitting some good shots, making some putts.
- But then, as the tournament went on, I started to notice something. He was just so…consistent.
- I mean, every shot was precise, every putt was calculated.
- He wasn’t making any crazy, risky plays, but he was just steadily pulling ahead.
I kept watching, waiting for some kind of major shakeup, but it never came. He just kept playing this solid, steady game. By the end of it, he won by five strokes. Five!
It’s Like He’s a Robot
After that, I jumped to a few other tournaments he’d played in. I fast-forwarded through some of the slower parts, focusing on his shots. And you know what? It was the same story. This guy was like a machine. I found myself watching hours of golf that day. He was just so good that it was almost…predictable. He won by a huge margin. By this time, I was getting a little bored. It’s not that he’s a bad player – quite the opposite! It’s like, you expect this guy to perform well. But it became less exciting, I guess.
Now, I get why some people are saying he’s boring. His style of play isn’t flashy. It’s not about making those jaw-dropping, against-all-odds shots. It’s about precision, strategy, and consistency. He’s like the anti-Phil Mickelson, you know?
And I guess, for some people, that’s just not as exciting to watch. I found that after watching multiple events, I got tired of it. He’s a great player, no doubt, but maybe not someone who gets the crowd roaring, and maybe not for a wide audience. I also found out that he’s worth like 50 million or something. But from my little experiment, I can see why some folks might find his game a bit, well, boring. But hey, the guy’s winning, and that’s what matters, right?
