That Red Dead, you ask me if it is cross play? I heard my grandson talk about that, it is some kinda game, he plays it all day long, never go outside. Red Dead, I heard that name many times.
This game, you know, it is not cross play. What is cross play? I don’t know too much. I think it is like, you play on one thing, your friend play on another thing, and you two can play together. But this Red Dead, no, you can’t. You play on your thing, he play on his thing, no play together. That’s too bad, right?
My grandson, he plays on his computer, that big computer he got. His friend, I think, plays on that PlayStation, that black box. They can’t play together, so sad. They yell at each other on the phone, “Why no cross play?” they say. “Why, why, why?” I don’t know why, ask the game maker, not me.
Is this Red Dead still alive? You know, like, they still fix it, make it better? I don’t think so. My grandson, he complains, says no new things in the game. He still plays, though. He likes to ride that horse, shoot those guns. I don’t like the shooting, too loud, too much bang bang. But he likes it, so what can I say?
They say it is Red Dead Online, this game. You know, online, you need that internet. We got internet, it is slow, but we got it. But still, no cross play. PC, that’s a computer. Xbox, that’s that green box. PlayStation, that black box. None of them play together. All alone, all separate.
Is it worth it, this game? I guess so. My grandson, he plays and plays. He goes fishing in the game, you believe that? Fishing! He can fish in the river near our house, but no, he fishes in the game. He hunts, too. Shoots those animals. And camping. He sleeps outside in the game. He likes all that quiet stuff, he says. He is a quiet boy, likes to be alone.

So, Xbox people play with Xbox people. That’s what they say. Old Xbox, new Xbox, they all play together. But only Xbox. PlayStation, same thing. Old one, new one, all together, but only PlayStation. That’s how it is. This Red Dead Online, no friends across the boxes.
It is 2024 now, you know. New year, old game. Still no cross play. They say it won’t happen. My grandson, he is sad, but he still plays. He loves that game, that Red Dead. I don’t know why, but he does. Maybe one day they will make it cross play, but I doubt it.
That game, that Red Dead Online, it is a big world, they say. Lots of people playing. But all separated, all in their own little worlds. PC world, Xbox world, PlayStation world. No crossing over, no meeting in the middle. Too bad, too bad.
I asked my grandson again, “What is this cross play?” He tried to explain, but it is too much for me. Something about servers, something about platforms. I don’t know these things. I just know you can’t play with your friends if you have different boxes. That’s all I need to know.
Maybe that is why my grandson doesn’t talk much, he got no one to play with. Oh well, he still have his game. I hope he is happy. That is all that matters. His game, his horse, his guns. I don’t understand it but he like it. That is his thing.
This game, it sounds like a lonely thing, with no cross play. But maybe that’s okay. Maybe some people like to be alone. My grandson, he likes to be alone. He is happy in his game world, that Red Dead world.
So, if you want to play with friends, make sure you all have the same box. That’s the rule, it seems. Otherwise, you are stuck in your own little world. I guess that is what you need to know. Hope you understand what i said. It is difficult to understand young people’s stuff. But hope you get it.
