So, I’ve been planning to catch a Dodgers game for a while now, and I finally got around to figuring out the seating situation. I gotta say, it’s a bit more involved than I thought it would be.

First, I started by looking up general advice on where the best seats are. It seems like everyone agrees that the Field Box sections are the way to go if you want to be close to the action. These seats are right behind the backstop and around the infield, so you’re basically in the heart of it all.

Then I dug a little deeper and found some specific recommendations. The Reserve level, Row A, especially in aisles 1-7 and 2-8, supposedly has some killer views. You get a perfect view of the field and apparently, the scenery in the background is pretty awesome too.

I also learned that it’s probably a good idea to steer clear of the outfield pavilions. I guess they can get a little rowdy out there. I read a story of someone who went to a game in a full Giants uniform and was fine, but I don’t think I want to take any chances with rivalries!

  • Field Box sections – best for close-up views
  • Reserve level, Row A, aisles 1-7 and 2-8 – great views of the field and scenery
  • Outfield pavilions – possibly rowdy, avoid if you can

The most important thing I learned is about staying in the shade. Apparently, the sun sets on the 3rd base side, so that’s where the shade starts the earliest. The trick is to sit as far back as possible in whatever section you choose. That way, you’ll be under the overhang of the deck above you, which will keep you out of the sun. Of course, this doesn’t apply to the top deck.

After gathering all this info, I finally felt ready to make a decision. I ended up going for tickets in Field section 15FD. It’s on the 3rd base side, and I made sure to get seats towards the back of the section. Now, just need to get the game schedule!

And I found that they even have Wi-Fi there, so that’s pretty cool. I guess you can find anything on the internet these days.

Anyway, that’s my seating chart saga for a Dodgers game. It took a bit of research, but I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on it now. Now all that’s left is to actually go to a game!
