Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting Ligue 1 results. It’s tough, you know? So many upsets. But I think I’m finally getting somewhere. I started by just looking at the table, you know, the usual stuff – who’s top, who’s bottom. That’s kinda obvious, but it’s a good starting point.

Then I moved on to looking at recent form. I picked a website, any website and checked out the last five or six games for each team. Wins, losses, draws – the whole shebang. This gives you a better idea of how a team is actually playing, not just where they are in the standings.
My Simple Process:
- Checked league table standing.
- Looked at the last 5-6 match results.
- Considered home/away advantage.
Home advantage is a real thing, I noticed. Teams just seem to play better in front of their own fans. So, I started factoring that in. If a team was at home, I gave them a little mental boost in my prediction.
I also started paying attention to, like, who’s scoring the goals. If a team has a striker who’s on fire, that’s gotta count for something, right? Same goes for injuries. If a key player is out, that’s gonna affect the team’s chances. The team without star player will more likely to lose.
So, I put all this together. Table position, recent form, home advantage, key players… it’s not an exact science, more like an educated guess. But I started writing down my predictions before each matchday, just to keep track of how I was doing.
And you know what? It’s working! I’m not winning any bets or anything, I am doing this for myself, but my predictions are definitely getting better. I’m calling more upsets, and I’m less surprised by the results. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s fun, and it makes watching the games even more interesting.

I still get it wrong sometimes, a lot sometimes, But I’m learning. And that’s the main thing, I guess. Just keep watching, keep learning, and keep making those predictions!
