So, I was digging around the internet the other day, looking for something to watch, and I stumbled upon this show called “The Chosen.” Heard some good things about it, figured I’d give it a shot. But, you know, I’m not really into all that streaming stuff, subscriptions, and whatnot. I’m more of a download-and-watch-whenever-I-feel-like-it kind of guy.
So, I thought, “Let’s see if I can find a torrent for this.” Started poking around on some of the usual sites, and sure enough, I found one. It was labeled “Chosen. S 01.” Looked legit, about 5.8MB, which seemed right for a collection. The date on it was June 3rd, 2023, which is like, super recent. This seemed good.
Now, I’ve been doing this torrent thing for a while, so I know the drill. Downloaded the torrent file, no problem. Opened it up in my usual client, and that’s when the fun started. Usually, you just double-click and bam, it’s downloading. But this one, it just sat there. Nothing. Zero. Nada.
I started getting a little annoyed. Checked the usual things. Made sure my client was up to date, firewall wasn’t blocking anything, you know, the typical troubleshooting stuff. Still nothing. So I went down to the bottom of my torrent client where all the details are. There are these tabs, like “General,” “Trackers,” “Peers,” and some other stuff.
Clicked on the “Trackers” tab, and boom, there it was. A bunch of trackers, but most of them were either offline or just not connecting. It was like trying to call someone and getting a busy signal over and over again.
Then I thought, “Maybe it’s the peers.” Peers are basically the other people who have the file and are sharing it. So I hopped over to the “Peers” tab. Same story. A handful of peers listed, but most of them weren’t doing anything. It was like showing up to a party and finding out that everyone else had either left or was just standing in the corner not talking to anyone.
I messed around with it for a while, trying different settings, restarting the client, even rebooting my computer. Still nothing. Finally, I just gave up. Sometimes, you just gotta know when to fold ’em, you know?
And to make the story a bit crazy, I just saw that the fifth season of this show is going to be in theaters! And this is in the U.S. and Canada, crazy right? Seems like I can’t avoid having to go to the theater to see this.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with “The Chosen” torrent. Didn’t end up watching it, but hey, it was an interesting little journey. Maybe I’ll catch it on TV someday. Or maybe I’ll just go see it in theaters, who knows.
