Okay, so today I messed around with creating a “luna snow pfp”. It was a bit of a journey, let me tell you!

It all started with me just browsing some cool art online. I stumbled upon some awesome winter-themed artwork, and then I got this silly idea: “Hey, why not try to make a profile pic inspired by Luna Snow?” I mean, she’s a cool character, and the winter vibe is totally in right now.
First things first: gathering resources. I didn’t wanna just rip off existing art, so I started collecting images for inspiration. Snowflakes, icy textures, some cool character art that had a similar vibe to Luna Snow (but not actually her, you know?). Pinterest became my best friend for like, an hour.
Then, I fired up GIMP. Yeah, I’m a cheapskate, so no Photoshop for me. GIMP does the job, even if it’s a little clunky sometimes. I created a new image with a decent resolution, like 500×500 pixels, just to make sure it wouldn’t look like garbage when scaled up.
Next, I started messing with the background. I wanted something that looked like a swirling snowstorm, but not too busy. I ended up using a gradient tool with some blue and white colors, then added some noise to make it look more textured. I also tried to find a good snow flake brush, then randomly stamping them on the background.
Okay, now for the main character. Since I didn’t want to use Luna Snow directly, I decided to use a base image of a generic anime-style girl. I found one online that was free to use, and imported it into GIMP as a new layer. I started tracing over the face, then I changed the hair color to a icy white color and eyes to a piercing blue using colorize tool.

After all of that, I added some details. I added a blue glow around the character’s face and hair to give it that icy feel. I also put some snowflake sparkles around her using a small brush. It was starting to look pretty cool!
The final touch was the lighting. I wanted to make sure the image had a good sense of depth, so I added some shadows and highlights using the dodge and burn tools. It took a bit of tweaking, but I finally got it to a point where I was happy.
So, yeah, that’s how I made my “luna snow pfp”. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a fun little project, and it gave me a chance to practice my GIMP skills. Now I have a cool new profile pic for winter!
