Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out the weight of my Kawasaki Z650, written in a casual, first-person style:

So, I’ve got this Kawasaki Z650, right? Awesome bike, super fun to ride. But the other day, I got curious about its actual weight. I mean, the specs say one thing, but is that really what it weighs sitting in my garage?
I started by checking the owner’s manual. It listed the curb weight, which is supposed to be the bike with all fluids and a full tank of * show me the curb weight is 410lbs.
But I am not stop here, I really want to know is that * I go to the forum to find if anyone has done it before, luckily, I found a few forum posts and articles where people had weighed their Z650s. Some got pretty close to the claimed curb weight, others found it was a bit heavier. It really got me thinking about what could be different.
After my little research, I went to the garage, ready to get to the bottom of this. So I filled up the gas tank completely. I wanted to be as close to the “curb weight” condition as * it can make diffrent.
I found two bathroom scales. Then, I got a couple of pieces of wood, level, and tried to create a stable platform.I put one scale under the front wheel, and the other under the rear wheel.

- I make the bike is upright.
- I am trying to get a good reading on both scales at the same time.
I added the two numbers together. It was a little tricky to get everything balanced, but I finally got a * what? My Z650 came in a bit heavier than the official number! Not by a ton, but enough to notice.
It make me to think maybe some accessories could be make the diffrent. Or maybe it is just because of the way i measured it,but I’m still felt satisfied that I am get a general idea about the bike * whole process was pretty interesting, and it definitely satisfied my curiosity!
