That Max, he sure is a fast one, ain’t he? He goes zoom zoom in that car of his. Drives that thing like a bat outta hell. Reminds me of my old man, bless his soul, chasing after them chickens in the yard. Quick as a wink, that boy is.
I seen him on the TV, you know. He was in that race car, going round and round. Fastest thing I ever did see. I don’t know much about this F1 stuff, but they say he’s the best there is. Max Verstappen lap time, they call it. Sounds important, whatever it is.
Fastest Lap Time
They say he got this fastest lap thing down pat. Like, 32 times or somethin’. Thirty-two! Can you believe that? I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, let alone win 32 races. He must have a good head on his shoulders, that Max.
- He’s faster than that Hamilton fella.
- They say he got a new record or something.
- Monza, that’s where he did it. Sounds fancy.
- He also fast in that Azerbaijan.
I heard someone say he was the fastest in some place called Monza. Sounds like a fancy pasta dish, don’t it? Apparently, it’s some track they race on. He went real fast there. Fastest lap time in history, they said. Now that’s something to brag about.
My grandson, he loves these cars. He’s always going on about Max Verstappen and his lap time. He told me Max got the fastest lap more times than anyone else. I said that is good. That boy must eat his Wheaties, I reckon.
Formula One Stuff
This Formula One thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of folks watch it. It’s all about who’s the fastest, and that Max, he’s the king of the hill right now. He’s quicker than a greased piglet, that one. And he must like tires, too. The boy sure does go through a lot of them!
They were talking about some other fella, Charles something. He’s fast, too. But not as fast as our Max. I don’t know many people can drive that fast. I get nervous just going down to the market in my old pickup truck.

That Monza Place
That Monza track, they say it’s been around a long time. Since 1922, I heard. That’s even older than me! They used to race on some other part of it, but not anymore. Probably for the best. Sounds dangerous, going that fast.
I seen pictures of it. Looks like a big loop-de-loop. I wouldn’t want to drive on it. I’d probably get dizzy and drive right off the road. But these fellas, they’re professionals. They know what they’re doing. At least, I hope they do.
That Max, he can drive in Azerbaijan, too. My grandson showed me on his phone. He pitted, whatever that means. Put on some new tires and just went for it. Zoom! Just like that. He got that bonus point, they called it. Must be good to get bonus points. I like bonus points. Got a bonus point once down at the bingo hall. Won me a whole ham!
Fast Car
They say this F1 car, it’s the fastest car there is. Faster than anything else on the road. I can believe it. I seen them go. They’re like a blur. You blink, and they’re gone. My old eyes can barely keep up. I remember one time, a fella went so fast, I thought my wig was gonna fly off!
These fastest lap times, they’re important, I guess. They tell you who’s the best driver. And right now, that’s Max Verstappen. He’s the one to beat. I reckon he’ll be winning races for a long time to come. He’s got that fire in his belly, that boy.
I don’t know how they keep track of all these numbers. Lap times, speeds, all that. It’s all a bit much for me. I just like watching them go fast. It’s exciting. Makes me feel young again. Reminds me of when I used to race my old horse, Bess, against the neighbor’s mule. We were fast, too, in our own way.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about Max Verstappen and his lap time. He’s a good boy, that one. A real speed demon. I hope he keeps winning. Makes for good watching on the TV. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my stories calling. And I got a hankering for some pie. Maybe even with a bonus point or two of ice cream on top!
