My Routine to Hunt Down Today’s Starting Players
Spotted an email about the Medeama vs Al Ahly match while slurping my morning coffee. Thought, “Ooh, gotta post those lineups”. Grabbed my phone, flipped open the laptop – mission begins.
First, opened Google like always. Typed “medeama vs al ahly lineup today”. Scrolled past ten ads screaming “BEST BETTING SITES!!”. My eyes glazed over. Kept scrolling till I hit something that looked legit – plain site called “LineupTrax”. Claimed real-time updates. Skeptical, but clicked.
-
Their list looked like this:
- Medeama GK: Nurudeen Abdulai
- Al Ahly FW: Kahraba
- …and so on for other positions
Frowned. Needed a second source. Hopped over to FootballReportHub. Their Medeama goalie showed “Kofi Mensah”. My heart sank. Two different names for the SAME position? That’s chaos.
Decided to pull the big guns. Logged into X (still feels weird not calling it Twitter). Searched #AlAhly #Medeama. Filtered posts to “Latest”. Found Al Ahly’s official account – pinned tweet had their starting eleven:
-
Al Ahly
- GK: El Shenawy
- Defense: Maaloul, Metwally, etc.
- Midfield: Kahraba(!), El Shahat

Kahraba as midfielder? Earlier site said forward! Cross-verified with Al Ahly’s Facebook page. Same starting eleven. Okay, X version won.
Medeama’s Facebook hadn’t posted anything. Scrolled their feed until my thumb went numb. Nothing. Checked local Ghanaian sports feeds. Found a blurry WhatsApp screenshot circulating. Zoomed in – Nurudeen Abdulai was listed as GK. Used that for Medeama.
Typed everything up on my blog draft. Added bold for positions and asterisks near doubtful names. Triple-checked. Hit publish. But honestly? That WhatsApp screenshot still bugs me. Real talk – African clubs making lineup info feel like treasure hunting sometimes.
