Okay, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure with Mending Machines in Fortnite.
My Foray into Fortnite Fixin’
So, I’ve been dabbling in Fortnite, mostly just messing around and, you know, getting eliminated a lot. But I kept seeing these “Mending Machine” things pop up on the map and in challenges. I figured, “Hey, might as well figure these out.” So, I started actively looking for them. First, I jumped into a few matches with the sole purpose of finding these machines. I didn’t even care about winning; I just wanted to see what they were all about.
The first few times, I kept getting taken out before I could even get close. I was like a moth to a flame, except the flame was a sniper bullet. It was rough, to say the least.
Locating the Darn Things
I started paying more attention to the map. Mending Machines are often, at gas stations. These are easy to spot, they’re the building with the gas pumps out front. I used my mini-map a lot to find the nearest locations. My landing strategy became all about getting to a gas station.
Using the Machines
Once I actually made it to a Mending Machine without getting blasted, I had to figure out how to use it. I tried simply to find the Mending Machine. Then, I just walked up to it, and the interaction prompt popped up. Most of the time, It showed items and healing stuff, like bandages or medkits. It needs you to spend gold, I realized I actually needed Gold Bars! The machines don’t take hopes and dreams, apparently. They want cold, hard in-game currency.
- Gather Gold: Before even thinking about a Mending Machine, I started prioritizing getting Gold Bars. Opening chests, eliminating players. Every little bit helps!
- Find a Machine: Like I said, gas stations. Learn those map locations!
- Interact and Buy: Walk up, press the interact button, and choose what you want. Make sure you have enough gold!

Once I got the hang of it, these Mending Machines became super useful. I could top off my health, I could also get the useful items. Mid-fight healing is a game-changer. It’s definitely worth learning where these machines are and keeping some gold on hand. So, I got used to getting gold and use the Mending Machines to do healing, and then, I won the game!
