Starting This Baseball Video Project
Alright, so today I finally sat down to work on that Michael Tucker compilation I’ve been meaning to put together forever. Got my coffee, cranked up YouTube, and just started diving in. Man, finding footage was way harder than I thought it would be.

Step 1: Hunting Down Forgotten Clips
I typed in all kinds of searches like “Tucker game winning hit” and “Atlanta Braves Tucker defense.” Scrolled through pages of results. It was crazy how many just didn’t show up anymore. Found maybe three or four good highlights on the first page, then clicked on related videos forever. Took me over an hour just to gather maybe eight decent moments from random user uploads.
Getting My Editing Tools Ready
Okay, so my laptop isn’t exactly a beast. I use DaVinci Resolve because honestly, it’s free and it works fine for simple stuff like this. Once I downloaded all those clips, I dragged them into the project timeline and chaos started.
- Trimming clips: Cut off all those annoying intros and outros from other videos.
- Ordering moments: Tried putting his defensive plays first, then the clutch hits. Made more sense to build it up.
- Adding commentary: Didn’t wanna just have music. So I grabbed my cheap USB mic and recorded some rough voiceover explaining why each moment mattered.
Hitting the Big Snag
Right? Things always go sideways. Halfway through editing, my laptop froze completely. Hadn’t saved for like 45 minutes. Lost all my voiceovers. Felt like throwing the mic out the window but hey, took a walk instead. Came back, started the voiceovers over. Learned my lesson: save every five minutes even if it’s annoying.
Polishing the Mess
Added some royalty-free baseball stadium background music – nothing fancy, just crowd noise and a low beat. Adjusted audio levels so my voice didn’t get drowned out. Then it was subtitle time. Typed out key things I said for each clip. Honestly took longer than the editing itself.
- Exporting the file: Rendered it as an MP4. Took ages. My fan sounded like a jet engine.
- Watching the rough cut: Saw like five typos in the subtitles immediately. Fixed those.
Reflecting While Uploading
While it was finally uploading, I just thought about Tucker. Dude wasn’t flashy like Griffey Jr. or Jeter, you know? Solid player though. Made some fantastic plays that changed games. Remembering those moments felt like digging through a baseball time capsule. Fun project but wow, finding those “forgotten” moments takes serious work. Maybe that’s why people forget them – they’re buried too deep!
