The other day, I was thinking about catching a baseball game, and guess what? It turned into a whole concert experience at Nationals Park. Who knew, right?

Nats Concert Series: Everything You Need to Know

So, I started by looking up the schedule and saw that the Washington Nationals were playing. Cool, I love baseball. But then I saw there was a concert scheduled for the same day, September 7th. “The Boss,” it said. I’m like, “The Boss? Is that Bruce Springsteen?” Turns out, it was! I was pumped. A baseball game and a Springsteen concert? Sign me up!

First thing I did was check out the bag policy ’cause you never know these days. They’ve got this clear bag thing, and it can’t be bigger than 16” x 16” x 8”. I found an old clear tote bag and tossed in a smaller clutch – apparently, that’s okay as long as it’s inside the clear one. They also mentioned something about one-gallon freezer bags, so I grabbed one of those too, just in case.

Then, I dug a little deeper and found out about “Signature Sundays.” How cool is that? Before every Sunday home game, two Nationals players sign autographs. I made a mental note to get there early because you need a voucher, and it’s first-come, first-served. They start handing them out at Section 103 when the gates open, which is like 80 minutes before the first pitch. I figured, I’ll get there super early to snag a voucher and maybe get my old baseball signed.

I also read up on Nationals Park itself. It’s right by the Anacostia River and seats over 41,000 people. They’ve got all sorts of fancy stuff like luxury suites and club seating, but I was more interested in the picnic area and family plaza. Sounds like a good place to chill before the game and the concert.

Here’s how the day went down:

  • Got to the Park: I arrived way earlier than needed, but hey, better safe than sorry. I wanted that autograph voucher!
  • Scored a Voucher: Headed straight to Section 103 and got my voucher. There was already a bit of a line, but I was in luck.
  • Autograph Time: Waited for the players to show up. It was pretty cool seeing them up close and chatting with other fans. Got my baseball signed!
  • Explored the Park: Since I had time to kill, I wandered around. Checked out the picnic area, grabbed some food, and just soaked in the atmosphere. It was buzzing with excitement.
  • Game Time: The game was awesome! The energy in the stadium was electric, and the Nats played great.
  • Concert Time: After the game, the stage was set up, and the crowd went wild when “The Boss” came out. It was an amazing concert, and everyone was singing along.

Honestly, it was one of the best days I’ve had in a while. A baseball game, autographs, and a Bruce Springsteen concert all in one? It doesn’t get much better than that. If you ever get a chance to go to Nationals Park, especially when there’s a concert, do it! You won’t regret it.
