Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out who’s running for NC Governor, written in a casual, personal style:

So, I wanted to get a jump on understanding the next election for North Carolina Governor. I mean, it’s a big deal, right? And honestly, I felt a little out of the loop. So I started digging in.
First, I just did a basic search. Typed in something like “NC Governor candidates” into the search bar. You know, the usual. Ended up with a bunch of news articles, which was…okay, I guess. A little overwhelming, and honestly, some of it felt kind of biased, you know?
Next, I tried to find some official websites. Like, campaign pages for potential candidates. This was a bit trickier. Some folks have made announcements, so that was easy. I could usually find their names, and then search for their “official” campaign site. Others, it was just rumors and speculation. “So-and-so might be running…” Ugh.
I also checked out some of the political party websites for North Carolina – you know, the state-level Republican and Democratic Party pages. Sometimes they’ll have lists of declared candidates, or at least hints about who’s thinking about running. It’s like trying to piece together a puzzle, really.
What I’m looking for
- Name:Duh, I want to Know who is running.
- Party: I want to See which party they belong to.
- Basic platform: I Checked their position for the issues.
It took a little bit, not gonna lie. But I did manage to put together a decent list of the likely contenders. Definitely more than two candidates, and from different parties. It’s still early days, though. I’m sure more people will throw their hats in the ring.

I just kept at it. Checked different news sources, looked for official announcements, scrolled through social media even (you never know!). It’s a bit of a process, but I feel way more informed now. I’ll keep updating my info as the election gets closer, too. It’s all I did for that.
