Okay, so I wanted to get in better shape, and I heard about this Henry Johnson Park. I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” I’m not getting any younger, you know?

First thing I did was, I looked up the park. Gotta know where you’re going, right? Found it easily enough. It’s a pretty decent-sized park, from what I could tell online.

Next, I needed to figure out what I was actually gonna do there. Just walking around aimlessly seemed… well, aimless. So, I thought about some simple exercises I could do. Push-ups, maybe? Sit-ups? I’m no athlete, so I gotta start somewhere, haha.

My Workout Plan (Such As It Is)

  • Warm-up: A brisk walk around the park. Figured I’d get the blood flowing, you know?
  • Push-ups: Tried to do them against a park bench. My arms were shaking like crazy after, like, five. It’s harder than it looks!
  • Sit-ups: Found a nice, grassy spot. My back kinda hurt, not gonna lie. Probably did them wrong.
  • Walking Lunges:These were…interesting. Felt like a baby giraffe learning to walk.
  • Cool-down: Another walk, but slower this time. More of a stroll, really.

So, I packed a water bottle, put on some comfy shoes, and headed out. Getting there was easy peasy. The park itself? Pretty nice! Lots of trees, people walking their dogs, kids playing… good vibes, you know?

I did my little routine. Felt pretty good, actually! Even though I was super out of shape, it was nice to be outside, moving around. And hey, fresh air is good for you, right?

The whole thing took, maybe, an hour? Including the walking to and from the park. I definitely felt it the next day, though. My muscles were screaming. But in a good way, I think. Like, “Hey, you actually did something!”

I’m gonna try to go back a couple times a week. Maybe I’ll even get good at those push-ups eventually. Who knows? Baby steps, right?
