So, I wanted to check out this Ledgemere Dam thing I heard about. It’s in some place called Limerick, up in York, Maine. I figured, why not? It’s supposed to be on the Little Ossipee River, and I was curious about dams anyway.

Getting Started
First off, I had to figure out where this place actually was. Grabbed my phone, did a quick search. Turns out, it’s a bit of a drive from where I am. But hey, road trip, right? I packed some snacks, filled up my water bottle, and hopped in the car.
The Drive
The drive was… well, it was a drive. Lots of trees, some small towns. Nothing too exciting. I put on some music, sang along badly, the usual. After a few hours, I started seeing signs for Limerick. I was getting close.
Finding the Dam
Once I got into Limerick, I had to do a bit more searching to find the actual dam. It’s not exactly a huge tourist attraction, you know? I drove around for a bit, followed some winding roads, and finally, there it was. It is a timber crib rockfill earth dam. I think it was built for Hydroelectric purposes.
Checking It Out
I parked my car and walked around a bit. The dam’s not huge, but it’s still pretty cool to see. I walked to the edge and looked down. Lots of water, as you’d expect. I saw some rocks, too. I took a few pictures, just for the memories, you know?
I also saw some signs, but they didn’t really say much. I guess it’s just there, doing its dam thing.

Wrapping Up
After hanging out for a while, I figured it was time to head back. I grabbed my stuff, got back in the car, and started the drive home. It was a pretty chill day, just exploring and seeing something new. I got home, made some dinner, and that was pretty much it. A day well spent, I’d say.
