Okay, so I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while, and now seems like the perfect time. I was glued to the TV this past weekend, watching the NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 at Martinsville. Man, what a race! I grabbed my notebook, like I always do when I need to follow along and keep track of things that happen.
First off, I gotta say, getting all the info on this race was a bit of a hunt. I mean, it’s a big deal, the final race of the Round of 8 in the Playoffs, so you’d think it would be easier. But after some digging around, I managed to piece it all together.
I started by jotting down the basics. You know, the who’s who of the race. There were 37 drivers gunning for it, which is a lot to keep track of. I made a simple list in my notebook, just their names to start. Nothing fancy, just a quick reference.
Then the race started, and boy, was it a nail-biter! I was scribbling notes like crazy, trying to keep up with all the action. Every time someone made a move, I’d mark it down. Used a little star for the lead changes. Kept my notes as organized as possible, but when the action is that hot, sometimes it’s hard to keep things neat, you know?
As the race went on, I started making a separate list of the finishing order. It was pretty clear who the front runners were, but the middle of the pack was a total mess. I used a bunch of arrows and lines to show who moved up and who fell back. And of course, I wrote down the big moment – Ryan Blaney taking the checkered flag. I circled his name about a hundred times. This dude really knows how to drive. He won the Xfinity 500, which is awesome.
When it was all said and done, I had pages of notes. It looked like a hurricane hit my notebook, but hey, that’s how I roll. Next, I wanted a clean list of the final results, so I spent some time organizing my chaotic notes, rewriting all the results in order. I didn’t just care about the winner and the guy that came second, but also paid attention to the entire list of drivers.
I heard that Joey Logano won the NASCAR Cup Series championship, and he had to hold off Ryan Blaney. But my focus was on the Martinsville race, so I didn’t dive too deep into that. Maybe I’ll save that for another post. Besides, I only care about the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.
Anyway, I finally ended up with a list that made sense, showing the full results of the Xfinity 500. Here is what I jotted down:

- Then the rest of the drivers, all the way down to the 37th place.
It was a heck of a race, and I’m glad I took the time to document it all. It might not be the prettiest notes, but it’s my way of remembering all the excitement. That’s it, really.
