Alright, so I’ve been a HUGE Nuggets fan for years. Like, years. And this year, 2024, I decided, “You know what? I’m gonna track their wins and losses. Every. Single. Game.” I’m not a stats whiz or anything, just a dedicated fan who wanted to see it all laid out.
Getting Started
First thing I did? Grabbed a notebook. Yeah, an actual, physical notebook. I’m kinda old-school like that. I thought about using, like, a spreadsheet or an app, but the notebook just felt right. I wanted to scribble notes, you know? Doodle little basketballs in the margins. The whole nine yards.
The Process
After every game, I’d jot down the date, the opponent, and, of course, the score. Win or lose, it went in the book. I even made little notes about how the game went. Stuff like, “Jokic was a BEAST tonight!” or “Man, that ref was blind!” Just little things to remind me of each game.

- Opponent: Who’d we play?
- Score: The final tally.
- Notes: My little observations.
It wasn’t always easy. Some of those late-night games, West Coast time, phew! I was struggling to stay awake. But I did it! I powered through, fueled by coffee and sheer Nuggets love.
My feelings
There were some real nail-biters, games that went down to the wire. And, yeah, there were some tough losses, too. Times I wanted to throw my remote at the TV (but I didn’t, promise!). Each win, though, I’d get this little rush of excitement. I’d mark it down in my notebook with a big, fat “W”.
As the end of the season started getting closer, I start making different counts of our record. How we did at home versus away. How many games did we win or lose each month? How many wins or losses were against Pacific Division teams? All the different ways I could slice and dice the records. It was so much fun to start seeing the big picture take shape.
Keeping this record, it became more than just numbers. It was like a diary of the season. A way to remember all the highs and lows. And hey, even if the Nuggets didn’t always win, I felt like I was winning, just by keeping up with it all. I realized that tracking their W’s and L’s kept me so much more engaged and helped me learn so much more about the team and the game of basketball itself.
So, that’s my little project for the 2024 Nuggets season. Maybe I’ll do it again next year. Maybe I’ll even get fancy and use a spreadsheet. Who knows! But for now, I’ve got my trusty notebook, filled with all the memories of a season well-watched.
