Okay, so today I decided to dig into who Patrick Ekeng was, and man, what a rabbit hole that turned into. I mean, I’d heard the name before, but I didn’t really know anything about him, you know?

First, I just did a simple search. Just typed his name in and hit enter. Boom. Tons of stuff popped up.
So, I started clicking around. I skimmed through a bunch of news articles – mostly from when he, you know, passed away. It was pretty heavy stuff. I felt kinda bummed out reading it, to be honest.
Then I spent a good chunk of time just looking at different websites. Some were just basic sports news sites, others were more like, fan pages, I guess? It was interesting to see the different ways people remembered him.
What I learned about him.
- He was a professional footballer.
- He was from Cameroon.
- He died in a match.
I watched a few videos, too. Mostly game highlights and some tributes. It’s always different seeing someone in action, rather than just reading about them.
Honestly, after spending a few hours going through all this stuff, I felt a bit drained. It’s one thing to research something academic, but this was…different. It was about a real person, a young guy with a whole life ahead of him. It made me think, that’s for sure.

Anyway, that’s my deep dive for the day. I definitely know a lot more about Patrick Ekeng now than I did this morning.
