Okay, so I finally checked out Dragon Ranch Golf, and let me tell you, it was a whole thing. I’d heard about it from a few buddies, you know, the usual “you gotta try this place” kind of talk. So, I figured, why not? Grabbed my clubs, and off I went.

First off, finding the place was a bit of an adventure. It’s kind of tucked away, not exactly where you’d expect a golf course to be. I actually drove past it the first time, had to turn around. Note to self: pay closer attention to the GPS next time!
Getting Started
Once I got there, I headed to the pro shop to check in. The guy behind the counter was super chill, gave me the rundown on the course, and pointed me towards the driving range. I always like to warm up a bit before hitting the course, you know, get the kinks out.
- Spent about 30 minutes on the range.
- Mostly working on my irons, trying to get that nice, consistent swing.
- Felt pretty good, actually. Maybe it was the fresh air?
On the Course
The course itself? Man, it was challenging. Lots of rolling hills, some strategically placed bunkers, and the greens were fast. I mean, really fast. I definitely three-putted a few times more than I’d like to admit. My short game, lets just say, it is tested.
I managed to keep the ball in play for the most part, though. There were a couple of holes where I had to really think about my shot, you know, plan it out. No just blasting away with the driver. I try to figure out my angles, avoided those pesky bunkers.
Played through all 18 holes. Took me a good few hours, especially with a little bit of waiting between some of the holes. The scenery was awesome. Rolling hills, a few water features, makes the whole experience better, even when you’re struggling with your putts.

Wrapping Up
After I finished up, I grabbed a quick bite at the clubhouse. Nothing fancy, just a burger and fries, but it hit the spot. Talked to a couple of other golfers, swapped stories about our rounds. You know, the usual post-golf chatter.
Overall, Dragon Ranch Golf was a solid experience. Tough course, but in a good way. I’ll definitely be back, but maybe after a few more practice sessions on the putting green. I need to work out to deal with the short games.
