Okay, so I finally got around to playing a round at The Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs. I’d heard so much about it, and let me tell you, it lived up to the hype – mostly!

Getting There and Getting Started
First off, finding the place was easy enough. It’s, you know, The Broadmoor – pretty hard to miss. I pulled up, and the valet guys were right there, super efficient. I handed over my keys, feeling a little fancy, I admit.
I checked in at the pro shop. The staff there were really friendly, helped me get sorted with a tee time. I had booked it way in advance, because, yeah, this place is popular.
Hitting the Course
I headed out to the East Course, which is the one I’d heard the most about. Wow. Just, wow. The views were incredible, mountains everywhere. It was almost distracting!
- The fairways were immaculate. Like, seriously, perfect.
- The greens were fast. Really fast. I definitely three-putted a few times. (Okay, maybe more than a few…)
I struggled a bit with the altitude. I’m not used to playing at that elevation, and my shots weren’t going as far as I expected. I had to adjust my club selection a lot, and even then, I was still coming up short sometimes.
I took a little break and I grabbed a drink and a snack at the halfway house. It was a nice little spot to recharge and enjoy the scenery, again the landscape is so beautiful!

Finishing Up
I finished my round, feeling pretty good, even though my score wasn’t exactly stellar. The course was challenging, no doubt about it, but it was also incredibly enjoyable.
I picked up my clubs, grabbed my car from valet, and headed out. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The course was beautiful, the service was top-notch, and even though I struggled with the altitude, I had a blast.
Would I go back? Absolutely. But maybe I’ll spend a few days in Colorado Springs beforehand next time to get acclimated!
