My Trip to Find Poirier’s Market – Seriously Messed Up Online Info!
Alright folks, wanted to grab some fresh stuff last Tuesday from Poirier’s Market. Heard great things about their produce, you know? Figured I’d just look it up quick online. Big mistake.
Started typing “Poirier’s Market location hours” into my phone search bar. Like you do. Clicked on a couple top links. Totally confusing! One site said downtown, another mentioned Maple Avenue, hours were all over the place. Said like 8am-7pm? 9am-5pm? Even saw a Sunday opening time somewhere. My head hurt.
Gave up on the phone. Seriously, unreliable. Decided to just get in my car and drive down to where people said it was near Maple and 3rd Street. Easy enough, right? Wrong. Got there, drove slow looking for signs. Saw the giant “Market Fresh” sign… but wait, that’s another place! Drove past it twice like an idiot.
Finally spotted it tucked kinda back off Maple. Nice big sign: “Poirier’s Market – Family Since 1973.” Pulled into their parking lot around 2pm. Place had a good crowd going. Felt promising.
Walked in, grabbed a basket. Saw a friendly-looking woman stacking apples near the door. Went right up to her. “Excuse me,” I said, “Your hours online are a total mess everywhere. Seriously, what’s the real schedule?” She laughed, shaking her head. “Oh, tell me about it! Happens all the time.”
She pointed me towards this big, slightly worn poster pinned near the checkout. “THAT,” she said, “THAT’s the truth.” And she rattled it off too:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am sharp until 6pm.
- Friday & Saturday: Open same time, 7:30am, but stays open later till 8pm.
- Sunday: Sleep in, opens 8am, closes 4pm.
Made a mental note, then used my phone to snap a quick pic of their poster for proof! Got what I needed – fresh bread, some amazing peaches – and was out.
So, real deal if you’re going:
- Get there: Head to Maple Avenue. Look between 2nd and 3rd Street, it’s set back a bit behind the Market Fresh place, don’t get fooled by their sign. Large green awning with Poirier’s.
- Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-6pm / Fri-Sat 7:30am-8pm / Sun 8am-4pm. Forget what the internet gossip says! Trust the poster.
Wasted that morning looking online. Should have just driven down earlier. Lesson learned! Always go straight to the source. Got my fresh stuff though, totally worth the slight detour panic.
