Okay, so, today I want to talk about something I messed around with recently. It was a totally random thing, just for kicks, really. I called it “randomized horse”.

So I started by thinking, you know, what makes a good horse for someone? And it’s a bunch of things, right? The rider’s height, their weight, how fit they are, how good they are at riding, and what they want to do with the horse. All that stuff matters.
Then I went on this whole search, reading up on different horse breeds. Some of them, like the Suffolk Punch, Morgan, and Kentucky Saddler, all sounded pretty solid, but they all have their pluses and minuses. I even read that the “best” one out there is supposed to be this Arabian horse. They’re apparently super fast and have some really rare white coat or something.
But then I started thinking about the advice people give. Like, don’t buy a young horse when you’re starting out, and definitely don’t get one straight off the track – too many potential health problems. They say to get a well-trained “School Master” horse, one that’s got a nice build. And temperament is apparently the biggest thing, not the color of the horse. Oh, and always get a vet to check the horse out before you buy it. That’s a big one.
And then there’s the whole thing about how to approach a horse. Don’t just walk up to it from behind, they can’t see you! Apparently, you’re supposed to go from the side or at an angle. They have this huge field of vision, almost 270 degrees, but they have blind spots right in front of their face and directly behind them. And talk to them, don’t shout. Makes sense, I guess.
My Crazy Idea
So, with all this swirling around in my head, I decided to put together this “randomized horse” page. I wanted to put all these performances, speed figures, results, pedigree, and then randomize it. It was kind of a mess, to be honest.

I found some stuff about a 4-year-old filly named “Randomized” from the US, trained by some guy named Chad Brown. I guess it is a famous horse. But that wasn’t really the point. I just wanted to see what would happen if I threw all this horse information into a blender and hit “frappe.”
In the end, it was kind of a fun little experiment. It didn’t really go anywhere, but it was interesting to think about all the things that go into finding the right horse, and how complicated it can be. And it made me realize how much I don’t know about horses. But hey, maybe I’ll do another experiment with randomized horse.
- Started by researching horse breeds and what makes a good horse.
- Read advice on buying horses and how to approach them.
- Decided to create a “randomized horse” page.
- Gathered information on horse performances, pedigrees, etc.
- Threw it all together and randomized it.
- Realized it was a bit of a mess, but still a fun experiment.
Anyway, that’s my story about the randomized horse. It was a bit of a wild ride, but that’s how I roll. Hope you all found it at least a little bit interesting!
