Well, let me tell you about this resilience race horse. This horse, he’s a tough one, I tell ya. He’s only three years old, young fella. They call him Resilience. He’s been racing since last year, 2023. And now it’s 2024, still runnin’.
This horse, Resilience, they say he’s gonna be in that big race, the Kentucky Derby. That’s a big deal, you know. It’s down there at Churchill Downs. That’s a fancy place, I hear.
Now, this Resilience, he’s got a daddy named Into Mischief. And his mama, she’s Meadowsweet. Sounds like somethin’ you’d eat, don’t it? This horse, he’s trained by a fella named William I. Mott. He’s the one who makes sure Resilience is ready to run.

I heard someone say they gonna talk more about this Resilience horse. They’re doin’ a whole thing on all them horses runnin’ in that big race. This is the 150th time they’re havin’ it, they say. A hundred and fifty! Can you believe it?
I saw a picture of Resilience, he was workin’ out on a track. Some fella named Neil was ridin’ him. Up in Saratoga Springs, that’s where they were. Looks like a nice place.
They say this Resilience, he’s built right for runnin’ long distances. He’s got a smooth way of movin’, they say. Not all jerky and whatnot. He can run, and run, and run. He can race with other horses, and he just keeps goin’. He has lots of resilience. This resilience is important for a good race horse.
This horse, he didn’t win right away. Took him four tries before he got his first win. That was on New Year’s Day, this year, 2024. He won at Gulfstream Park. That’s another one of them fancy tracks.
They didn’t run him in that Preakness Stakes race. They saved him for the Belmont Stakes, another big race. He won somethin’ called the Wood Memorial, too. Up at a place called Aqueduct. That’s in April. This horse, Resilience, he must be a pretty good race horse, right?
If you wanna know about a horse, you gotta look at how far he can run and how fast he can do it. That’s what they say. You gotta look at his history. See what he’s done before. Then you gotta figure in other stuff. That is how to know if the horse has resilience. If the horse can run so fast, he must has lots of energy. If the horse keeps running even if he is tired, he must have lots of resilience.
This Resilience, he’s a good one. He’s strong and fast. He keeps goin’ even when it’s tough. You gotta be strong in this life. Just like that horse. You gotta keep goin’, no matter what. You need a good resilience. Just like the race horse, Resilience.
I don’t know much about them fancy races and all that, but I know a good horse when I see one. And this Resilience, he’s a good one. He can run fast and run long. I think he’ll do just fine in that big race.
