And it’s on red clay, that dusty stuff they slide around on. Makes for some good rallies, I hear.
For the women, they start their main draw a little earlier, on Tuesday, May 7th. They gotta win four matches just to get to the quarterfinals, that’s tough. That means they gotta be strong and keep their energy. I tell you, it’s not easy to keep running around all that time.
This whole thing goes on for a while, from early May to almost the end of the month. Lots of matches to watch, if you got the time. I hear some folks even watch it on TV, they got somethin’ called “Sky Sports Tennis” and “Now TV” and even somethin’ called “Tennis TV”. I don’t know much about that, I just listen to it on the radio sometimes when I’m doing my chores. But it sounds like they show all the matches, so you don’t miss a thing.
