Okay, so, I wanted to dive into the whole Chinese Taipei thing at the Olympics. You know, track their schedule, see how they’re doing, all that jazz. It’s a bit of a unique situation, right? They’re not listed as Taiwan, but as Chinese Taipei. Turns out, this name comes from way back when they joined the World Trade Organization. Officially, they go by the “Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu,” but everyone just calls them “Chinese Taipei” for short.

I started by digging up info on the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. These games are gonna run from July 26th to August 11th, so I marked that down. Then I started looking for anything about Chinese Taipei’s athletes. Apparently, they really crushed it at the last games! I found some mentions of their past medal counts. Like in the 32nd Olympic game hold in Tokyo, they got a lot of medals!
But for the 2024 games, that is the 33rd Olympic Games, I wanted the current schedule and results. I found a few websites that seemed to have a list of the athletes and the sports they’re in. It wasn’t super detailed, but it was a start. I figured I’d have to keep checking back as the games got closer. I also tried to find some contact info for the team. I saw some phone number like +886-2-8771-1495 and some email address, but I’m not sure if they’re the right ones. I guess I’ll find out if I ever need to contact them.
I made a little table to keep track of everything:
- Games: Paris 2024
- Dates: July 26 – August 11
- Team: Chinese Taipei
- Past Medals: Seemed like they did well in 2021, but I don’t have the exact count now
- Schedule: Still looking, will update as I find more
- Results: Will update during and after the games
I also noticed that there was some kind of Olympic Day event with the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee. They had these Kids Games and a running marathon, which sounded pretty cool. I guess it’s all about promoting the Olympic spirit, you know?
So, that’s where I’m at now. I’m gonna keep an eye out for more info on the schedule and any news about the athletes. It’s gonna be interesting to see how they do in Paris. I’ll probably make another post once the games start to track their progress. I’ll just keep digging and see what else I can find. Maybe I’ll even make a spreadsheet or something to organize it all better. Who knows.

It is a little bit troublesome to get the information I need, but I will keep my eyes on it and find out how they did in the 33rd Olympic Games.
