Okay, so I wanted to get a definitive list of the Mexico national football team players from 2014. It seemed simple enough, but wow, did it turn into a little project!

Digging for the Data
I started by, you know, just Googling it. I figured there’d be some official roster list somewhere. I found a bunch of articles and fan pages, but nothing that felt super reliable. Lots of conflicting info, and I wanted to be sure.
Then I thought, “Okay, let’s go to the source.” I tried to navigate the official Mexican Football Federation website, but honestly, my Spanish is rusty at best. I spent way too long clicking around, getting lost in a maze of menus.
Compiling My List
After that, I started to build my list by cobbling together information from various websites. I opened up a simple text document and started copying and pasting names.
- First, I added players’ names.
- Second, I tried to find the positions for each player to make sure all imformation is corrent.
- Last, I double-checked the list and the duplicate names to ensure the result accuracy.
I cross-referenced everything like crazy. If two or three sources agreed on a player and their position, I felt pretty good about including them. If it was just one source, I flagged it for extra checking.
The Final Result (Hopefully!)
It took a bit of time, and a lot of cross-referencing, but now,I finally had the name list that I wanted, and I’m pretty confident about the accuracy for that.
