Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something a little different – Formula 1, specifically focusing on Stoffel Vandoorne and his time at McLaren. I’ve always been a bit of a racing fan, and I thought it’d be cool to dig into some data and see what I could find.

Stoffel Vandoorne McLaren: Why Did the Partnership End?

First, I started by just doing some general searching. You know, just hitting up the usual spots to get a feel for Vandoorne’s overall career and his stint with McLaren. I wanted to get the basic facts straight before diving deeper.

Gathering the Info

Then I moved on to more specific stuff. I looked for things like:

  • His race results during his time with McLaren.
  • Qualifying performances compared to his teammate (which I think was Fernando Alonso at the time – that guy’s a legend!).
  • Any news articles or interviews from that period that might shed light on how things were going within the team.

It was actually kind of tricky! There’s a lot of info out there, but sifting through it all and finding the really relevant bits took some time. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just reading and taking notes.

Putting it Together

After I felt like I had a decent amount of information, I started to organize it. I created a simple spreadsheet to keep track of his race finishes and qualifying positions. Seeing it all laid out like that really helped me get a clearer picture of his performance.

I am analyzing the data. I tried to see if there were any patterns or trends. Was he consistently outperforming his teammate in qualifying but struggling in the races? Or was it the other way around? Any significant improvements or declines over the seasons?

What I Realized

It was really interesting! It looks like Vandoorne had a pretty tough time at McLaren. He was up against a super experienced and highly-rated teammate, and the car itself wasn’t always the best. It definitely seems like he had a lot of potential, but maybe the circumstances just weren’t ideal for him to really shine. It just goes to show that even in something as high-tech as Formula 1, the human element and the team dynamics are still super important.

I am wrapping up the job.I think I might try to do something similar for other drivers or teams in the future. It’s a fun way to learn more about the sport and practice my data-gathering skills!
