So, this week I got into the TE rankings again. As usual, I started from looking at last week’s data, right?

I started with collecting some info, like who’s playing, who’s hurt, who’s on a bye week, and that kind of stuff.
Then, I went through the performance of each player from the last game. You know, how many targets they got, how many yards, touchdowns, and all that jazz. I also checked out their previous performances to see if there’s a pattern. Some guys are consistent, some are like a roller coaster.
- Travis Kelce is still the king, no surprise there. Even though he’s facing the Vikings, I don’t see anyone dethroning him anytime soon.
- Then there’s this guy, George Kittle, who’s been a bit quiet lately. But I have a feeling he might have a good week.
- And don’t sleep on Dalton Kincaid, he’s a rookie but he’s been getting more involved in the offense.
After analyzing all the data, I started ranking the players. It’s not just about the numbers, though. I also considered the matchups. Some defenses are tough against tight ends, some are like a sieve.
Making Some Tough Calls
There were some tough calls to make. Like, do I rank this veteran who’s been slumping but has a good matchup higher than a young guy who’s been hot but has a tough opponent? It’s a real head-scratcher sometimes.
And then there are the injuries. Man, they can really mess up your rankings. A guy could be a top-5 tight end, but if he’s got a bum ankle, you gotta downgrade him. It is tough, but it is a part of this work.

Finally, I put together my TE rankings for Week 5. It took a while, but I think I did a pretty good job. Of course, things can change quickly in football. A guy could get injured in practice, or a coach could decide to shake things up. So, I always keep an eye on the news and adjust my rankings accordingly.
And that’s how I did my TE rankings for this week. It’s a lot of work, but I enjoy it. Plus, it’s always fun to see how my predictions pan out on game day. Sometimes I’m spot on, sometimes I’m way off. But hey, that’s the nature of the game, right?
It feels good to make these rankings, hope they can be helpful to others.
