Okay, so I finally got around to playing that round at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club I’d been planning. Let me tell you, it was an experience!

Getting Started
First off, I booked a tee time online. It was pretty straightforward, their website was easy to navigate, I picked my time, and paid in advance. I’m not the most organized person, so doing it all online beforehand was a lifesaver.
Then, the morning of, I loaded up my clubs, double-checked I had enough balls (because, let’s be honest, I tend to lose a few), and headed out. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather for golf.
The Course Itself
When I got there, I checked in at the pro shop. The staff were super friendly. I grabbed a scorecard and a pencil, and they pointed me towards the first tee.
The course… wow. It’s huge! And seriously well-maintained. The fairways were lush and green, and the greens were fast. I started out pretty strong, feeling good about my swing.
- The front nine was challenging but fun. I had to make some good shots, the designer really knew how to position bunkers.
- The back nine was the killer. Some of the holes had water hazards that made it tough for me.
The Ups and Downs
I definitely had some good moments. I even managed to get a birdie on the par-3 7th hole, which was amazing! But I also had my share of struggles. I sliced a couple of drives into the rough, and ended up with a few bogeys that I wasn’t too happy about.

One really memorable moment was when I hit my tee shot on the 12th hole. I got it right in the sweet spot, and the ball just soared. Best. Drive. Ever!
Finishing Up
By the 18th hole, I was tired, but in a good way. I tapped in my final putt, added up my score (which was… respectable, let’s just say that), and headed back to the clubhouse.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Thanksgiving Point. It’s a beautiful course, and even though it kicked my butt a little, I can’t wait to go back and try to beat my score. Next time, I’m bringing extra balls!
