This here place, The Bridge Golf Club, they say it’s somethin’ else. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, sayin’ it’s in Bridgehampton, fancy place. Never been there myself, mind you, but they say it’s where the rich folks go to whack them little white balls around. 1180 Millstone Rd, that’s the address I heard.

Fancy Golf in Bridgehampton
This Bridge Golf Club, they got all sorts of things. Grass cut real nice, I bet. And they got them little carts you can ride around in, so your feet don’t get tired. Sounds like a lazy way to walk, if you ask me, but what do I know? They call it an 18-hole golf course. Sounds like a lot of holes to me. Probably take you all day to walk around that, even with one of them little carts.
- 18 holes, they say
- Nice and green, I reckon
- Got them carts to ride in
- Lots of rich folks, I hear
They say it used to be a raceway, where them cars go zoomin’ around. Now it’s all quiet and peaceful, ‘cept for the whackin’ of them golf balls, I suppose. Imagine that, turnin’ a noisy place into a quiet one. They say it’s on Millstone Rd, in Bridgehampton. Bet the folks livin’ around there got used to the quiet.
The Bridge Golf Club: More Than Just Golf?
One fella, he was sayin’ it cost a fortune to join this here Bridge Golf Club. Somethin’ ’bout a million and a half dollars! Can you believe that? I could buy a whole lotta land for that kinda money. And what do you get for it? The chance to hit a little ball around? Don’t make no sense to me. And it’s a private one, so you gotta be a member. Not just anyone can go.
They got all these numbers, ratings, and such. Slope this, index that. I don’t understand any of it. Some say it is one of the best golf courses in New York. Probably just numbers to make it sound important. Like them fancy restaurants with their tiny plates of food. 301 Ocean Road, some folks said that’s the address, some said it is 1180 Millstone Rd. I don’t know which one is right.
- Cost a fortune, they say
- Lots of numbers I don’t understand
- Gotta be a member
The Bridge Golf Club in New York
This Robert Rubin fella, he owns the place, they say. Must be rollin’ in dough to own a place like that. They call him a maverick. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds kinda wild. Maybe he’s one of them cowboys, but with money instead of cows.

They say this place is different from other golf clubs in Bridgehampton. “Casually chic,” they call it. Whatever that means. Sounds like somethin’ my granddaughter would say. She’s always talkin’ ’bout fashion and such. Me, I just wear what’s comfortable. Don’t care ’bout bein’ chic.
The Bridge: A Rich Folks’ Playground
This Bridge Golf Club, it’s a mystery to me. Why folks would spend so much money to hit a little ball around is beyond me. But I guess rich folks got different ways of spendin’ their time. Me, I’d rather be tendin’ to my garden or sittin’ on the porch, watchin’ the world go by. It’s in New York. That’s a busy place.
This place, it’s one of them new ones. Opened in 2002, I heard. That ain’t too long ago. I remember when that was just a field, nothin’ but weeds and wildflowers. Now it’s all fancy and such. Times change, I guess. But some things stay the same. Like the sun risin’ in the east and settin’ in the west. And me, still not understandin’ the appeal of golf. But you know, it is a good way to get some fresh air and exercise.
- Opened in 2002
- Used to be a field
- Now it’s fancy
If you go there to the The Bridge Golf Club, tell them old Martha sent ya. Maybe they will give you a discount. Probably not, they might think I am some crazy old lady. But hey, it is worth a try, right? I heard they got good food there too. Maybe they will let you try some. This is a good place for golf, I think. Even I don’t know much about golf, this one must be good.
