Okay, so today I messed around with “Michael Rennie The Third Man.” I’d heard about it, seemed kinda cool, so I figured, why not?

First, I kinda just jumped in blind. Didn’t really know what I was doing, just started clicking around. Total fail. Got nowhere. Felt like I was trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions.
So, step two, I backed up. Decided to actually, you know, look at what I was dealing with. Started poking around at the different parts, trying to get a feel for how things were supposed to fit together. This took a while, ngl.
Then, it was a lot of trial and error. I tried this, I tried that. Some stuff worked, most stuff didn’t. I kept a little notepad next to me and scribbled down what seemed to do something, even if I wasn’t sure what that something was.
- Tried combining this with that. Nope.
- Tried doing this first, then that. Still nope.
- Okay, maybe THIS order? … Bingo!
It was slow going. I’d get a little bit working, then hit another wall. Bang my head against it for a while, then try something completely random. Sometimes, that random thing actually worked! Go figure.
The “Aha!” Moment
There was this one point where I was totally stuck. I mean, stuck. Thought I’d tried everything. Then, I had this crazy idea, something I’d completely overlooked before. Tried it, and BAM! It clicked. It was like the whole thing suddenly made sense.

After that, it was still a bit of a grind, but I had a direction. I knew what I was aiming for, even if I wasn’t quite sure how to get there all the time. More scribbling in the notepad, more experimenting, more little victories.
Finally, I got it all working. It wasn’t pretty, and I’m sure there are way better ways to do it, but it worked. Felt pretty good, I gotta say.
So, that was my day with “Michael Rennie The Third Man.” Definitely a learning experience. Lots of frustration, but also those little moments of “YES!” that make it all worthwhile.
