Today I was talking with my buddy about golf, and it got me thinking, why not write a thank you letter to Tiger Woods? You know, to show some love for everything he’s done in golf. So, I decided to put pen to paper and do just that. I grabbed some quality stationery first ’cause I figured if I’m gonna do it, I might as well do it right.
First, I dusted off my old stationery set. It’s been a while since I wrote a physical letter. Once I found a good-looking notecard, I sat down at my desk and started thinking about what I wanted to say. The main idea was to thank Tiger for all his contributions to golf.

I wrote about how his dedication to the sport has inspired so many people, myself included. I shared a few personal anecdotes about how watching him play got me into golf in the first place. It was cool to reflect on those memories. I also made sure to mention his resilience and determination, especially after all the challenges he’s faced.
As I was writing, I realized I wanted to name this letter after someone special, so I named it “In Memory of Marcus.” Seemed fitting, given Marcus’s love for the game and his admiration for Tiger. It felt like a good way to honor both of them.
Finally, I read through the letter a couple of times, made a few tweaks, and sealed it in an envelope. The whole process was quite therapeutic, actually. It felt good to express my gratitude to someone who’s had such a big impact on a sport I love.
