Okay, so I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the top speed of my Honda Magna 750. And honestly, I wasn’t entirely sure myself. I mean, I’ve pushed it a bit, but I’ve never really tested it, you know? So, I figured, why not? Let’s find out, and I’ll document the whole thing.

Prepping the Bike
First things first, I checked the bike over. Made sure the tires were properly inflated – super important for high-speed runs. Checked the oil, coolant, everything. I didn’t want any surprises mid-run. Gave her a good wash, too. Gotta look good while breaking the sound barrier, right? (Just kidding… mostly.)
Finding a Suitable Location
This was tricky. I needed a long, straight, and most importantly, empty stretch of road. I’m not about to endanger anyone, including myself. After some scouting, I found an access road to an old, unused airfield. It was perfect – a bit bumpy, but long enough and deserted.
The Runs
I did a few runs, building up speed gradually. I wasn’t trying to break any records, just get a good feel for the bike’s capabilities. I wanted to experience that feeling of pushing my bike in a safe location. I did not record it by video or photo.
- Run 1: Got up to about 90 mph. Felt pretty stable, but the wind was really starting to push me around.
- Run 2: Hit 105 mph. The bike felt surprisingly solid, even at that speed. The engine still had more to give, no doubt.
- Run 3: This was the fastest. I tucked in as much as I could and really opened it up. I glanced down and saw the needle hovering around 120mph. To be honest, I didn’t hold it there for long. It was exhilarating, but also a little scary! The wind resistance was intense.
My Conclusion
So, there you have it. From my little experiment, I’d say the top speed of my Honda Magna 750, in real-world conditions, is somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 mph. I’m sure a professional rider on a perfectly smooth track could squeeze a bit more out of it, but for me, that was plenty fast. It’s a powerful bike, no doubt about it. But more than the top speed, I was impressed by how stable it felt, even at those speeds. A real testament to Honda engineering.
I learned a lot from the ride, and I’m so happy to share that with you. Will I do another top speed test? Maybe one day I can make some improvements to the bike.
