Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a good list of “upcoming fights 2024” together. It’s not as easy as you’d think! Here’s how I went about it, and what a pain it was.
First Steps: The Obvious
I started, like anyone would, with simple Google searches. I typed in “upcoming fights 2024,” “boxing fights 2024,” “MMA fights 2024,” you name it. I figured the big sites would have all the info, nice and organized.
Well, I did find some stuff, but it was scattered. One site would have some boxing matches, another would focus on UFC, and a third would have, like, obscure kickboxing events I’d never heard of. It wasn’t a total loss, but it was definitely going to take more work.
Digging Deeper: Getting Specific
I realized I needed to be more specific. So, I started focusing on individual promotions. Like, I’d search for “UFC fights 2024” or “Top Rank boxing schedule.” This helped a bit more. I started to find some of the bigger, confirmed fights.
I started making a list, literally just a text file, jotting down dates, fighters, and where I found the info. Old school, I know, but it worked. It looked something like this:
- UFC ???: Fighter A vs. Fighter B (Date) – Found on UFC site
- Boxing: Fighter C vs. Fighter D (Date) – Found on some boxing news site
The Problem: Things Change!
Here’s where it got tricky. Fight schedules are ALWAYS changing. Dates get pushed, fighters pull out, new fights get added… It’s a mess. So, the list I was making was basically out of date the second I wrote something down.
I had to keep going back and checking, re-checking, and cross-referencing different sites. I’d find one site saying a fight was happening, and another saying it was postponed. It was a constant battle to keep things accurate.
The (Ongoing) Result
What I learned I must check the dates again and again.
I’m still working on it. I check things is to find forums or communities. There are some pretty dedicated fight fans out there who keep track of this stuff religiously, and they’re often more up-to-date than the big websites.
It’s a lot of manual work, and I definitely don’t have a perfect, complete list. But it’s a start!.
