Okay, so I’ve been meaning to really get into rugby, and what better way to do that than to watch a classic matchup? I decided to check out the USA vs. Canada game. I figured it’d be a good way to see some quality play and learn more about the teams.

First things first, I had to find a way to actually watch the game. I did some digging around, checked some sports schedules, and, yep, found a few options. I could watch it on my TV by setting record.
Before the game started, I wanted to get a little background. I googled both teams, looked at some recent stats, and tried to get a feel for their playing styles. It’s always more fun when you have some idea of what to expect, right?
Game time! I grabbed some snacks, settled into my couch, and started watching. I made a real effort to pay attention to the different plays, the positions, and how the teams were working together. I mean, I’m still a newbie, but I tried to pick up on the strategies and the rules as I went.
My Observations During the Game
- The scrums were intense! Seriously, it looked like a controlled explosion of muscle every time.
- I was trying to figure out the line-outs. The lifting and throwing is something I hadn’t seen before.
- The speed of some of these players is insane. I was definitely impressed by some of the breakaways and tries.
- I also noticed a lot of kicking. I know in a rugby game it is a strategy.
After the game, I felt like I had a slightly better grasp of rugby, even if I’m still far from an expert. I jotted down some notes about things I wanted to look up later, like specific penalties and some of the player roles. It’s a process, you know?
Overall, it was a really cool experience. Seeing USA vs. Canada gave me a good taste of international rugby, and it definitely made me want to watch more games in the future. I am planning to record next games and rewatch them.
