Okay, so yesterday I decided to hit up Rancho Manana Golf Club in Cave Creek. I’d heard good things, and man, I needed to get out on the course.

Getting There and Getting Started
First things first, I looked up the place online. Found their website, checked out the course layout, and booked a tee time. Pretty standard stuff. The drive up there was actually really nice – scenic, you know? Once I got to the club, I checked in at the pro shop. The staff was super friendly, which is always a good start.
Hitting the Links
I grabbed a cart and headed out to the first tee. I gotta say, the views were amazing. The course is nestled right in the desert, with these huge rock formations all around. It’s definitely a unique setting.
- The first few holes were pretty forgiving. Wide fairways, not too much trouble.
- Then things got a little more challenging. Some of the holes had these tricky elevation changes, and you really had to think about your club selection.
- I definitely shanked a few shots into the desert. Let’s just say I spent some time searching for balls.
The Whole Experience
Overall, it was a great day. The course was in fantastic condition. The greens were fast, but true. I even managed to make a few birdies, which always feels good. I definitely recommend checking out Rancho Manana if you’re in the area. It’s a fun, challenging course with some killer views. Plus, the post-round beer at the clubhouse tasted extra good after all that desert sun.
I’ll probably go back soon, and hopefully not lose so many balls, that’s all.
