Okay, so I wanted to try this “no club” thing. It sounded interesting, and I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m always up for trying new things, especially if it might make my life a little better.

Getting Started

First, I needed to figure out what I was actually going to cut out. “No club” can mean a lot of things. After doing some research, I decided to try doing three things:

  • Stop social media randomly for a period
  • Reduce to use coffee
  • Reduce time on watching short videos

I picked these because I felt they were the things that kept my brain running when I was working but I want a try without them, I wanted to see how I’d feel. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little nervous. I use these platforms a lot.

The First Few Days

The first couple of days were rough, I won’t sugarcoat it. I kept reaching for my phone without even thinking. It was like a reflex. I had to consciously stop myself. My working time felt a bit…empty. Like something was missing. I also started to get headaches in the afternoon from lack of caffeine.

Also for the short video part,it was kinda weird. I usually watch them to relax during working, but without them, I just felt… bored and restless.

Finding Replacements

I knew I needed to replace these habits with something else, or I’d go crazy. So, I started doing these things:

  • Walk around the block. When I felt the urge to check my phone, I started to go out and walk for a bit.
  • Switch to tea in the afternoon. To deal with the caffeine withdrawal, I had a cup of tea instead. It wasn’t quite the same, but it helped.
  • Meditated. Instead of watching short videos, I tried to meditate for 10 minutes. It’s harder than it looks, but it did make me feel calmer.

The Results (So Far)

It’s been about two weeks now, and I’m starting to feel different. It’s not a huge change, but it’s noticeable. My work efficiency is not going higher, to be honest, the result it’s a little unexpected.

But I still think it’s useful to do this kind of practice sometimes.

I’m still figuring things out, and I definitely haven’t “perfected” this no club thing. But I’m glad I tried it. It’s made me more aware of my habits and how they affect me. I might not stick with all of these changes forever, but I’ve definitely learned something from the experience.
