So, I got this idea stuck in my head a while back. I was watching some game highlights, saw Kyrie doing his thing, and thought about his sneakers. Not just the latest ones, but, like, all of them. Seemed like a fun project, right? Just figure out what every single Kyrie shoe was.

Getting Started – The Easy Part
First thing, I just started listing the main models I knew off the top of my head. Kyrie 1, Kyrie 2, Kyrie 3… up to whatever was current then. That felt pretty straightforward. I jumped online, did some quick searches on sneaker sites, just to make sure I wasn’t missing any main numbered models. Okay, got the main line down. Easy peasy.
Then It Got Complicated
But man, then you dive into the colorways. That’s where things went off the rails. Each model didn’t just have like, five colors. No, sir. It felt like hundreds. You got your general releases, your collaborations, special editions, player exclusives (PEs)… it just kept going.
- Started making a spreadsheet. Thought I was being organized.
- Tried adding release dates and original prices. More digging.
- Found forums, fan pages, collector groups. Saw photos of shoes I’d never even heard of.
Honestly, it got overwhelming fast. Keeping track was a nightmare. Some info was conflicting, especially for older or rarer pairs. And the PEs? Forget about it. Most of those never even hit stores. How do you even count those properly? Are they part of “all kyrie shoes” if a regular person could never buy them?
Trying to Actually Get Some
Somewhere along the line, the documenting thing turned into wanting to actually own a few key pairs. Not all of them, I knew that was crazy talk by then. My wallet just isn’t that deep. But maybe, like, a favorite from each main model?
So I started hunting. Checking resale apps, local sneaker shops, eBay. It’s a whole other world. Prices are all over the place. You gotta watch out for fakes, too. Found a decent deal on a Kyrie 5 ‘Taco’, grabbed that one. Missed out on a Kyrie 2 ‘Ky-rispy Kreme’ I really wanted, someone beat me to it. It’s kinda like fishing, you know? Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t.

Where I’m At Now
Okay, so getting “all” Kyrie shoes? Yeah, that’s not happening. Not for me, anyway. The sheer number, the cost, the rarity of some pairs… it’s just too much. It was a fun thought experiment, though. Forced me to really look deep into the whole signature line.
Now, it’s less about trying to possess everything and more about appreciating the designs and the stories behind certain colorways. I still keep an eye out, maybe add a pair here and there if it’s something special and the price is right. But that initial mad dash to document and own everything? Learned my lesson. It’s better to just enjoy the ones you can get your hands on and appreciate the rest from afar.
