Okay, so I finally got around to tackling Injustice: Year Six. It’s been sitting there, you know? Staring at me from the digital pile. I’d blasted through the first five years a while back, loved the games, the whole crazy concept. But life happens, right? Stuff gets in the way, and my reading list just kept growing.

Then the other week, I was just clearing out some old files on my tablet and bam, there it was. The folder. Taunting me. Figured, alright, enough is enough. Time to actually finish this leg of the journey before I completely forget what even happened in Year Five.
Getting Back Into It
First thing I did was actually re-download the issues. My connection was acting up, naturally, took longer than it should have. While that was happening, I did a quick skim online – not for spoilers, heck no – just for a quick reminder of where Year Five left off. You know, refresh the old memory banks. It helped. Felt like less of a cold start.
Once everything was downloaded and ready, I made some coffee, found my usual quiet spot, and just dove in. Decided to read it straight through, no jumping around. Treat it like a proper binge-read.
The Actual Read-Through
So, I started reading. Issue after issue. Honestly, it felt good to be back in that messed-up version of the DC universe. It’s brutal, yeah, but compelling stuff.
Here’s kinda how it went down for me:

- Needed a bit to get back into the rhythm of the story and the art style.
- Some character moments really hit. You see the toll everything’s taken.
- Found myself getting properly annoyed at certain characters again, which is a good sign, means I was invested.
- The pacing felt pretty decent for most of it, kept me turning the pages (or swiping, in my case).
I didn’t rush it, took a break or two, let things sink in. It’s not exactly light reading, is it? There’s a definite weight to the story by this point. Seeing how they decided to wrap up this prequel phase before jumping to the second game… well, it was something.
Finished. What Now?
And just like that, I was done. Finished Year Six. Took me a couple of afternoons, basically. Felt satisfying to finally close that chapter, literally. It definitely ties things up and leads you right into the setup for the Injustice 2 game.
My main feeling? Relief, mostly. Relief at having finally read it. It’s a solid conclusion to the pre-game story arc. Wasn’t mind-blowing maybe, but it did the job it needed to do. Now, the big question is, do I dive straight into the Injustice 2 comics? Or maybe replay the first game? Haven’t decided yet. Probably gonna let this one sit for a bit first. But yeah, glad I finally got it done.
