Well, let me tell ya, this Justin Jefferson fella, he’s a good player, real good. But seems like he’s been havin’ a tough time stayin’ healthy, bless his heart. Folks keep askin’, “is Justin Jefferson playin’ this week?” It’s like a never-endin’ story, always somethin’ with him.

First, it was that quad thing. They said he got hurt in that game against the 49ers, you know, the team with the fancy pants and all that gold. Scared me half to death, I did. Thought he was done for, for sure. But then, they said he was okay, practiced and all, ready to go against Houston. Coach O’Connell, that fella, said Justin was “ready to roll.” Lord, I hope so! We need him out there catchin’ those balls.

So, he played, and he played good, I think. Didn’t hear no complaints from my boys watchin’ the game. Then, bam! Another thing! This time it was a hamstring. He missed a whole bunch of games, six of ’em, they said. Six! That’s a long time to be sittin’ on the bench, ain’t it? Makes ya wonder if he’s gonna be one of them fellas always gettin’ hurt. Like my old mule, Bessie, always gettin’ a stone in her hoof.
Anyways, he come back, and I was happy as a clam. Thought we were in the clear, you know? But no sirree, not so fast. He got hit hard, real hard, and had to leave the game again. Lord, have mercy! It’s like he’s made of glass or somethin’. Breaks my heart to see a young fella like that gettin’ banged up all the time.
Justin Jefferson Injury: What’s the Deal? That’s what everyone wants to know. They keep sayin’ he’s not on the injury report, but then he is. It’s confusing as all get out. I just want him to play, that’s all. He’s fun to watch, makes them catches you wouldn’t believe. And he does that little dance, the Griddy, I think they call it. My grandson tried to show me, but my old bones just ain’t made for dancin’ like that.
Now, they sayin’ he’s okay again, ready to play. But I’m still worried, you know? Holdin’ my breath every time he gets tackled. Don’t want him gettin’ hurt no more. He’s a good player, a real talent. We need him out there, catchin’ balls and makin’ touchdowns. And doin’ that little dance, too, if he’s up for it.

This whole thing, it reminds me of my garden. You plant the seeds, water ’em, and they start to grow. But then, somethin’ always happens. A frost comes, or the bugs get to ’em, or a darn rabbit eats all the lettuce. It’s a constant battle, just like with this Justin Jefferson. He’s got the talent, the skills, but he just can’t seem to stay healthy. It’s a pity, a real pity. He’s got the potential to be one of the greats, but he needs to stay on the field to do that.
So, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Hope for the best, pray he stays healthy, and cheer him on every chance we get. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll have a long, healthy career, makin’ catches and doin’ that little dance. That’s all I want, for him to be happy and healthy, and playin’ the game he loves. Justin Jefferson’s health is important, not just for the team, but for him too. He’s a young man, and he’s got a lot of football left in him, Lord willin’.
Now, about that Griddy dance… My grandson says some fella named Davis made it up and showed it to another fella, Chase, who played with Justin in college. Small world, ain’t it? All these fellas runnin’ around, catchin’ balls and dancin’. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. But the main thing is for Justin to stay healthy. That’s what we’re all hopin’ and prayin’ for. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what happens. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll get to see a whole lot more of that Griddy dance in the future. But mostly, we wanna see Justin Jefferson playin’ good, solid football.
