So, the other day I was trying to do this thing with Jockey, you know, that DJ software? I wanted to get a specific picture to show up whenever a particular track played. Sounds simple, right? It wasn’t. At least, not at first.

First, I spent like an hour just poking around in Jockey’s settings. I figured there’d be a simple “add image” button somewhere. Nope. Nothing. I dug through every menu, every tab, every little option I could find. I felt like I was going crazy.
Trial and Error (Lots of Error)
Next, I started just trying things, randomly. I mean, what else could I do? I started dragging image files into every possible place in the Jockey interface. I dragged them onto the track list, onto the virtual turntables, even onto the little waveform display. Nothing worked. I was getting seriously frustrated.
Then I thought, “Maybe it’s the image format?” So I converted a bunch of pictures. I made them JPEGs, PNGs, even GIFs, just in case Jockey was feeling quirky. Still nothing. I was starting to think this whole “jockey pic” idea was a pipe dream.
Finally, a Breakthrough! (Kind Of)
After, what i felt time, I realized that i needed cover picture of my mp3 files. I was thinking that jockey will show image which i want but I needed a media player. And i was able to use a picture, at least, not directly through Jockey. I realized i can change id3 tags of mp3 file.
- Find a tag editor: I downloaded some id3 tag editor. I find this one and installed.
- Open up the MP3:I used editor that I just downloaded, and I opened the MP3 file I wanted to use. I found “cover” section.
- Attached the image In tag editor, I just selected the image and saved to mp3 file.
- Play MP3 in a Player: I opened a player and it showed that i tagged.
It will show cover photo when playing mp3 file.
