Alright, folks, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been tinkering with lately – building not one, not two, but six NASCAR cars! Yeah, you heard that right, six of ’em. Now, I ain’t no professional mechanic, just a regular guy with a passion for cars and a whole lot of time on my hands. But let me walk you through how this whole thing went down.

Which 6 NASCAR Cars Should You Know About?

It all started a few years back. I’ve always been a huge NASCAR fan, and the idea of having my own race car has always been a dream. And after 2012, this dream just got bigger. I spent months, maybe even years, just researching, reading every article, forum post, and book I could find about NASCAR and these Next Gen cars. You know how it is, once you get an idea in your head, it’s hard to shake it off. And these things are very complicated so it took me a lot of time just to get the gist of it.

Then came the time to actually get my hands dirty. I started with gathering the parts. Let me tell you, finding parts for a NASCAR car ain’t like going to your local auto shop and picking up a new air filter. I spent countless hours scouring the internet, calling up suppliers, and even making a few trips to some specialty shops. It was a real treasure hunt, but slowly but surely, I started accumulating everything I needed. It was exciting to see those manufacturers, you know like Toyota, Chevrolet, and Ford.

  • First thing, I had to set up a workspace. Cleared out my entire garage, which was no small feat, considering the amount of junk I had accumulated over the years.
  • Then, with the help of some diagrams and manuals I managed to get my hands on, I started with the chassis. That’s the backbone of the whole car, so it had to be perfect. This was my first time doing anything like this, so you can imagine the learning curve. It was a lot of trial and error, I can tell you that.
  • Once the chassis was solid, I moved on to the engine. Now, I’m not gonna lie, this was the most intimidating part. But with a lot of patience, and a few helpful YouTube videos, I managed to piece it together. Hearing that engine roar for the first time was pure music to my ears.
  • After that, it was all about the bodywork. This was actually kind of fun, like putting together a giant, metal puzzle. Seeing the car take shape was incredibly satisfying.

I decided to go with the No. 6. You know, the one that Brad Keselowski drove? Getting that thing painted and looking all shiny and new was the cherry on top. Just like what I saw in that review of Brad Keselowski’s 2024 season.

I repeated the process, believe it or not, five more times. Each car had its own quirks and challenges, but with each one, I got a little bit better, a little bit faster. It was a grind, no doubt about it, but seeing those six cars lined up in my garage, all shiny and ready to go, made it all worth it.

The Finished Product

Now, I know what you’re thinking – what am I gonna do with six NASCAR cars? Well, I’ve got some plans. Maybe I’ll take ’em to a track day, or maybe I’ll just keep ’em as the coolest garage decoration ever. Who knows! But the journey of building them, that’s something I’ll never forget. It was a ton of work, a real test of patience and determination, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The Next Gen sure does have improved aero and downforce, let me tell ya!

Which 6 NASCAR Cars Should You Know About?

So, that’s my story. Just a regular guy, a love for NASCAR, and a whole lot of elbow grease. If I can do it, anyone can. Just remember, it’s all about the journey, not just the destination.
