Okay, so today I messed around with something called “david lacey”. I’d heard the name before, I think it’s some kind of design thing, but honestly, I wasn’t totally sure. So, I decided to just jump in and see what I could figure out.

Getting Started
First, I just googled “david lacey”. I saw a bunch of stuff, some websites, maybe a book or something? It was all a little confusing. I needed a clearer picture, so I looked for an introductory video. I found one that seemed pretty basic, watched it, and it gave me a slightly better idea, some stuff about shapes and colors.
Trying it Out
I thought, “Okay, let’s try to actually do something.” I didn’t want to download any fancy software or anything, so I looked for a simple online tool. I found something with a free trial, something with basic shapes and color palettes. I played around with the colors like he said.
- I picked a few basic shapes – squares, circles, triangles, you know, the usual.
- I arranged them on the screen, trying to make something, well, not totally ugly. It felt a bit like playing with building blocks when I was a kid.
- Then I started messing with the colors. I tried different combinations, some bright, some muted, just to see what would happen.
Getting (Slightly) Better
I kept playing around, moving shapes, changing colors. I started to see how different arrangements and color combinations could create different feelings. It’s kind of like cooking – you mix different ingredients, and you get a totally different dish. Some stuff I made looked terrible, but a few things actually started to look kinda cool, at least to me.
My Takeaway (For Now)
Honestly, I still don’t fully “get” david lacey. But I did have fun messing around. It’s like learning a new game – you don’t know all the rules at first, but you start to figure things out as you go. I think I need to spend more time with it, maybe watch some more videos, try some more examples. But for now, I feel like I’ve at least taken a first step.
I want to keep trying this and see what I can create!
