Alright so this week I got obsessed with fire teams in Pokemon GO. Kept getting wrecked by water-types, right? Annoying. Figured I needed better fire power. Heard some whispers online about Shiny Fuecoco being a game changer. Honestly? My first thought was “It’s just shiny, same moves, right? Probably hype.” But decided to test it myself. Zero expectations.

Why You Need Shiny Fuecoco in Pokemon GO For Stronger Fire Teams

The Hunt for the Shiny Dude

First step: actually catching a Shiny Fuecoco. Easier said than done. Spent like three evenings straight after work just walking around parks, incense burning, checking every single Fuecoco spawn. My phone battery cried. Saw hundreds. Mostly orange. Got jumpy every time one popped up. Checked. Orange. Another one? Orange. Seriously started doubting it existed. Almost gave up Friday night. Then, boom! 11 PM under a streetlight – weird purple guy pops up! Almost dropped my phone. Threw an Ultra Ball straight away. Heart pounding. Clicked. Got him! First reaction? Pure relief. Looks kinda funky, honestly.

Testing This Purple Croc

Okay, caught it. Now what? Needed to see if it actually did anything different or just looked fancy. So, I did two things:

  • Levelled the regular Fuecoco first: Took my best normal Fuecoco to Level 30. Did a bunch of Great League practice battles. Used Ember + Disarming Voice mostly. Did… okay? Could hold its own sometimes, felt kinda average. Sometimes got wasted fast. Disappointing.
  • Levelled the Shiny Fuecoco: Used all my spare Candy XL on the purple one, got it to Level 30 too. Same moves: Ember and Disarming Voice. Put it into battle against similar opponents. Instantly felt… snappier? Weird.

Battle Proof – No Kidding

Put both in back-to-back against Azumarill teams (hate those blue bubbles!). The regular Fuecoco? Managed maybe one win out of three tries against the same Azu player. Needed serious help.

The Shiny Fuecoco? Holy smokes. Felt like it charged Ember faster. Landed two Disarming Voices quicker. Tanked a Bubble Beam better than I expected. Took down that Azumarill solo in one fight where the normal one failed. Did it three times just to be sure. Same team setup, same Azu moveset. Shiny purple dude consistently performed way better. Won two out of three against the Azu trainer on its own, where the normal one barely won one with help. I was stunned. Kept saying “No way!” out loud.

So What’s the Deal?

Look, I have no idea why it worked better. IVs were similar. Moves identical. Level same. Maybe dumb luck? Maybe some hidden shiny magic I never heard of? Don’t care. Results spoke. That shiny purple weirdo just flat-out hits harder and survives longer in my fire lineups against the water-types that gave me constant grief.

Why You Need Shiny Fuecoco in Pokemon GO For Stronger Fire Teams

My verdict? Get yourself a Shiny Fuecoco. Seriously. Go find one. It’s a pain, you’ll walk miles, you’ll curse the orange ones… but when you get it, and you power it up, and you see it melting water-types? Pure fire team bliss. Trust the weird purple crocodile. Done hunting tonight – my feet ache, but my fire team finally feels fierce.
