I tried to make the logo of WWE Edge, and it was a really interesting experience, let me tell you all about it!

So, first, I went way back and learned that WWE wasn’t always called that. It used to be called Capitol Wrestling Corporation, and their logo was just “CWC.” Pretty simple, right?
Then I found out that in the late 1990s, during the “Attitude Era,” they changed their logo. This was a really popular time for wrestling, and the logo became super iconic.
I also learned that they were initially known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) and guess what their logo showed? Two wrestlers in action! It made sense, and it was cool to see how the logo evolved with the name changes.
Later on, I found out that they had to drop “Federation” from their name and add “Entertainment” due to some issue with the World Wildlife Fund. So, they changed their name to World Wrestling Entertainment and their logo also evolved.
The big moment I was aiming for was recreating their logo from around 2002, which was just “WWE.” They basically took their old logo and removed the “F” part. I remember seeing it on TV all the time as a kid, on the announcer’s shirts, on the big screens, everywhere!

So, I started by sketching out the basic “WWE” letters. Then I tried to make them look all scratched and edgy, like the real logo, and added some shadow effects. It was tough to get the scratches just right, but after a few tries, it started to look pretty good.
- I sketched out the basic “WWE” letters.
- I made them look scratched and edgy.
- Added some shadow effects.
I wanted to make it look 3D, like those old-school graphics, so I added some depth to the letters. I played around with different shades and angles until I got something I was happy with.
Then, I added the little red swoosh underneath. It seems simple, but it’s a super important part of the logo! I tried to make it look dynamic and sharp.
The whole process took me a while, but it was a lot of fun. I went through a bunch of rough drafts, messed up a few times, but hey, that’s part of the learning process, right?
And finally, I got to a point where I was really proud of my result. It wasn’t perfect, but it definitely captured the vibe of the classic WWE Edge logo.

The process was a really cool trip down memory lane, and it was awesome to see how the logo changed over time. It’s way more than just letters, it’s like a symbol of wrestling history!
