Alright, let’s talk about the Yankees projected lineup. Been messing around with this for a bit now, trying to figure out what makes the most sense.

Yankees projected lineup: See it

First things first, I had to look at the current roster. Who’s healthy, who’s not, and who’s even playing well? It’s a constantly moving target, right? I started by jotting down all the names, positions, and recent performance stats.

Then, I started playing around with different combinations. What if Judge bats second? Or should he be cleanup? Where does Stanton fit best when he’s actually in the lineup? I was literally scribbling lineups on a notepad like some old-school manager.

Next, dug into some advanced stats. Not just batting average, but also OBP, SLG, wRC+, all that jazz. Trying to get a better picture of who’s actually contributing and who’s just getting lucky.

Considered the matchups too. Who are they facing? Is it a lefty or a righty on the mound? That definitely changes things up. Some guys crush lefties, others can’t hit them to save their lives. It’s a puzzle.

After messing around for what felt like forever, I landed on a projected lineup that I’m feeling pretty good about. Could change tomorrow, of course, because baseball, but here it is:

Yankees projected lineup: See it
  • 1. DJ LeMahieu (2B)
  • 2. Juan Soto (RF)
  • 3. Aaron Judge (CF)
  • 4. Anthony Rizzo (1B)
  • 5. Giancarlo Stanton (DH)
  • 6. Alex Verdugo (LF)
  • 7. Gleyber Torres (SS)
  • 8. Jose Trevino (C)
  • 9. Oswaldo Cabrera (3B)

LeMahieu leading off seems solid. Gets on base, sets the table. Soto and Judge back-to-back is just pure power. Rizzo provides some protection and a good lefty bat. Stanton, when he’s on, can still crush. The rest, well, they gotta do their part.

It’s not perfect, but I think it gives the Yankees the best chance to score runs. Now, let’s see if they actually use it!
