Okay, so the other day I was down a rabbit hole on YouTube, as one does, and I stumbled across a video about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s tattoos. I knew the guy was covered, but I had no idea about the stories behind them. So, naturally, I got curious and decided to do a deep dive of my own.

My Zlatan Tattoo Investigation
First, I just did a general search for “Zlatan Ibrahimovic tattoos.” Man, this guy has a LOT of ink. I mean, we’re talking full back, arms, torso…the works. It was a bit overwhelming at first, just trying to figure out what was what.
Next, I started looking for articles and videos that broke down the meanings. This is where things got interesting. Turns out, a lot of his tattoos are pretty significant. It’s not just random designs; a lot of it is stuff that’s deeply personal to him.
- His Back: The biggest piece is this massive collection on his back. I learned there’s a Buddhist “Five Deva Faces Yantra” that’s supposed to protect from suffering and danger. Then there’s a Maori tribal symbol for protection for him and his family. You’ve also got a lion roaring its lungs out, which is also a very classic Zlatan choice for Zlatan.
Also found out that he had the names of 50 people tattooed on him temporarily. They were real people in some area suffering from famine. And after the match, he removed his shirt to show it to the audience. Pretty cool, right?
- His Ribs/Sides: I noticed he’s got “Only God can judge me” on his ribs. That’s a pretty bold statement, but hey, it’s Zlatan. He has two playing cards with his son’s initials inside them. He also has the words ‘Only God can judge me’ on the other side.
- His Arms: His right wrist has the dates of birth of his parents, wife and siblings. And, he calls it the ‘Ibrahimovic Code’. Then I found out the names on his arms, ‘Maximilian’ and ‘Vincent’ are the names of his sons. Classic Dad move.
Putting It All Together
After spending way too much time staring at pictures of Zlatan’s body (don’t judge), I feel like I have a better understanding of the guy. The tattoos aren’t just random decorations, they’re like a roadmap of his life, his beliefs, and the things that are important to him. It’s all about family, protection, strength, and a bit of that “I do what I want” attitude that makes him Zlatan.
So yeah, that was my little adventure into the world of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s tattoos. It was definitely more interesting than I expected!
