Alright, so listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about this 2015 IndyCar thing, you know, the car racing. I don’t know much about fancy cars or nothin’, but I can tell ya what happened, plain and simple.

The Big Race and Some Changes

So, this 2015 IndyCar season, they called it the Verizon IndyCar Series, was a big deal. It was like, the 20th time they did this IndyCar thing and the 104th time they raced these open-wheel cars in America. The biggest race, the one everyone talked about, was the Indianapolis 500. That was the 99th time they ran that race, held on May 24th. Sounded like a real hootenanny!

  • They changed some things about the cars, you know, the way they looked and how they went fast. Something about “aerokits” being different for Honda and Chevy cars. Sounded like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, but the fellas seemed to care.
  • And get this, they gave out double points for that Indy 500 race and the last race of the season. Double points! That means those races were extra important, I reckon.

Who Was Racing and Winning?

Now, I ain’t gonna list all them drivers and teams, ’cause there were a bunch. But they had these Dallara cars, all the same, but with different engines and stuff from Chevy and Honda. And they had these Firestone tires, which I guess are good for racin’.

They raced all over the place, on those roundy tracks they call ovals and those twisty tracks they call road courses. Some races were here, some were there. Brasilia, they was supposed to race there, but they didn’t. Don’t ask me why, things happen.

The first race was in St. Pete, and that’s when they showed off them new car parts I was talkin’ about. Folks were worried them cars were gonna break or somethin’, all complicated and fancy-like. But they raced ’em anyway.

The Points and the Sad Thing

They kept track of who was winning by givin’ ’em points. More points for doin’ good, less for doin’ bad. And if two fellas had the same points, they figured out who was better by seein’ who won more races, or who came in second more, and so on. Even who started first, that “pole position” they call it, that mattered.

But somethin’ terrible happened that year. A fella named Justin Wilson, he was racin’, and somethin’ broke off another fella’s car, a fella named Sage Karam. That thing hit Justin, and… well, he didn’t make it. Real sad. Folks were upset, you know, ’cause racin’ is supposed to be fun, but sometimes things go wrong. It just goes to show, life’s fragile, like a darn egg.

Chevy Was the Champ, But…

So, Chevy, they made the best cars that year, won the most races, they were the “Manufacturers’ champion” they called it. But with Justin Wilson passin’ away, it kinda put a damper on things, you know? Made you think about what’s important.

Just My Thoughts on Racing

I tell you what, these fellas, they drive fast. Too fast for my likin’, but they seem to enjoy it. And folks like to watch ’em, cheer ’em on. It’s a whole thing, this racin’ stuff. I don’t get it all, but I can tell ya, it was a year of fast cars, close races, and a whole lotta heartbreak with that Justin Wilson fella.

So that’s the 2015 IndyCar season, as best as I can tell it. Some good, some bad, just like life, I reckon. They raced, they crashed, they won, they lost. And that’s about all there is to it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.

Final words

2015 IndyCar Season: Review, Results, and Highlights

So yeah, that’s the lowdown on that 2015 Indycar season. A bunch of racin’, some new car stuff, a big race, and a real sad accident. Life’s a funny thing, ain’t it? One minute you’re cheerin’, the next you’re cryin’. But that’s racing, and that’s life, I guess.
